Meet the Clinic Staff

Paul Mayer, MSN

Paul Mayer, MSN, is a Family Nurse Practitioner and the Director of Health Services. He graduated from Union's MSN program in 2011 and has been a Registered Nurse since 1993. Paul is married to Kim and they have a son, John. Nurse Paul (as he is called by most on campus) loves tinkering around the house and raises chickens as a hobby. The Mayer's are members of Englewood Baptist Church.


Chris Lewis, MD

Dr. Chris Lewis has been practicing Family Medicine and Urgent Care in Jackson since 1999. He graduated from the UT Family Medicine program in 2002 and joined Convenient Care at The Jackson Clinic. Dr. Lewis has been a part of the Union Family since 2005. He serves as medical director for the Athletic Training Program and Student Health Services.


Sheryl Wren, BSBA

Mrs. Sheryl Wren is the Clinic Assistant and Health Records Coordinator. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Sheryl is happily married to Charles and they have two wonderful children, Clint and Abby. Sheryl loves to read, garden and spend time with her family at the beach. The Wrens are active members of Medina First Baptist Church.

Union University Statement on Ebola
  • Union University cares deeply for the health and wellbeing of its students, faculty and staff and is monitoring developments as they pertain to the Ebola virus. The university has a plan ready should circumstances warrant.
