
September 11, 2018- Dr. John Foubert was recently named Dean for the College of Education at Union University. Dr. Foubert is now providing full-time leadership to the College of Education, following the service of Dr. Michele Atkins as Interim Dean and the twenty-one years of service of Dr. Thomas Rosebrough as Executive Dean. Rosebrough retired in August 2017. His position was filled by Atkins on an interim basis until Foubert was identified as the new dean.

Foubert holds a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park; an M.A. from the University of Richmond; and a B.A. from The College of William and Mary. Most recently, Foubert served as Anderson, Farris & Halligan Professor of College of Student Development at Oklahoma State University. Among other positions, he previously served as Assistant Dean of Students at the University of Virginia and as a professor at The College of William and Mary.
Dean Foubert has published and presented extensively. As an interdisciplinary scholar, he has written over 50 peer-reviewed publications, ten books, and has given over 250 professional presentations to conferences, universities, and organizations around the world. Similarly, Foubert has extensive experience in securing funds, as he has served as the principal investigator for well over $600,000 in external grants.
Dr. John Foubert is a Highly Qualified Expert for Sexual Assault Prevention for the U.S. Army. And, he is the founder of the national nonprofit organization, One in Four, an organization that worked for 20 years to apply research to rape prevention programs on college campuses, in communities, and in the military.
Dr. Foubert has testified before Congress and has been called upon by the White House and Pentagon for his expertise in rape prevention. Foubert appears regularly in the national media on camera and in print in outlets such as CNN, The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Houston Chronicle, and U.S. News and World Report.
