The Biology Department seeks to assist students to become equipped in the field of botany and to develop a Christian worldview that will accompany them throughout their lives. Our program is designed to help students acquire core biological principles along with the solid educational foundation in plant sciences that will serve them in a botany related career.
For students interested in plant sciences, the new greenhouse has been constructed, and the teaching herbarium is growing and currently houses over 2,000 plant specimens. Also, several faculty members are engaged in plant related research with students who are working on their research projects. These projects include plant tissue culture and "barcoding."
