JACKSON, February 26-- Union University's board of trustees today elected Donald L. Lester dean of the University's McAfee School of Business Administration.
Lester, who presently serves as chair of the division of business and director of advance programs in Crichton College's Division of Business, will join the Union faculty this fall.
"Don Lester brings a solid academic background and a wealth of experience in private business to the McAfee School of Business Administration," Howard Newell, vice president for academic affairs, said. We look for forward to his leadership, especially in the areas of specialized adult and graduate programs."
Prior to joining the Crichton College faculty, Lester worked as a consultant for Federal Express, developing a business planning methodology and manual for air operations management.
Lester has made many research presentations to professional groups including the Southwest Business Symposium and the Southern Management Association, and his articles have appeared in publications such as The Southwest Review of International Business Research, Advances in Business Marketing and Purchasing, and Cases in Strategic Management.
Lester holds a doctor of philososphy, a master of business administration and a bachelor of science from the University of Memphis.
