JACKSON, March 28-- The Student Alumni Associations of Union University and Freed-Hardeman University will sponsor "Mudfest '96," a mud volleyball tournament which will benefit several area charities, Saturday, April 20, at 9 a.m.
Lunch will be served on the grounds at noon, and entertainment will be provided by several live bands and ensembles. Concessions will be available during the event, and all proceeds will benefit young people through Youth Town, the West Tennessee Children's Home, the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse and student scholarships.
The double-elimination tournament is open to teams from across the area. "Mudfest" teams should consist of six players with at least two females per team. Entry fee is $42 per team, and each participant will receive a free t-shirt. The tournament is limited to 32 teams.
