COLLOMP NAMED UNION UNIVERSITY'S STAFF OF THE YEAR

JACKSON, May 21-- Beverly "Cookie" Collomp, a member of Union University's facilities management team, was named the University's Staff Member of the Year at Awards Day festivities.

Collomp, who joined the Union staff in 1992, is the third recipient of the award, which was established to promote teamwork and appreciation among University employees.

"Cookie is probably one of the hardest-working employees we have," Gary Carter, Union's vice president for business affairs, said. "She is very dependable and loyal to Union."

The Staff of the Year recipient is selected from a field of nominees selected by administration, faculty, staff and students. Five finalists are then reviewed by an evaluation committee, which selects the recipient based upon references, professional development, and involvement in the school, the church, and the community as a whole.

Collomp, a member of Englewood Baptist Church, actively volunteers for the March of Dimes, American Heart Fund and American Cancer Drive .
