JACKSON, June 17-- Union University will host the annual West Tennessee Summer Preachers School Aug. 5-9. Registration begins Monday, Aug. 5, at 8:30 a.m. in the atrium of the University's Student Union Building.
Evangelist Junior Hill will lead nightly worship services at 7:30 p.m. in Union's G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel.
Henry Blackaby, director of prayer and spiritual awakening for the Home Mission Board, and Warren Wiersbe, noted author and speaker, will lead daily Bible studies. Blackaby, best known for his Experiencing God" curriculum, will speak on revival and spiritual awakening, while Wiersbe will teach from Ephesians: One Body," the 1997 January Bible study book.
Harold and Betty Gillogly of Nashville's GTO Family Ministries will lead Growing Toward Oneness," a seminar for husbands and wives, and Gary Rickman, director of church annuity programs for the Southern Baptist Convention Annuity Board, will provide financial planning information in a Golden Years" seminar.
Due to limited space, interested individuals should register immediately. Registration costs are $25 for individuals and $35 for couples. Costs include food, lodging and conference materials. Children's meals are not included. There is no charge for those who provide their own room and board.
Although on-campus housing for Improving With Age," a senior adult conference which runs concurrently with the preachers school, is full, ample housing is reserved for pastors who wish to stay on campus.
Pastors attending should bring personal toilet articles, study materials, pillow, light blanket, sheets for a half bed, bath towels and wash cloths.
