JACKSON, June 28-- Union University's office of admissions recently promoted two staff members and hired three new admissions counselors.
Lynn Gibson, assistant director of admissions for special events, was named director of adult and evening studies, and Trent Presley, assistant director of admissions for recruiting, was named director of recruiting.
"Both Lynn and Trent have proven their value to Union University by continually assuming more administrative responsibilities," Carroll Griffin, assistant vice president and director of admissions, said. "They will continue to bring quality students to Union through their experience and hard work."
In his new position Gibson will supervise recruiting efforts for Union's evening and weekend programs-- programs geared primarily toward adults. Gibson, who earned a bachelor of science from Union in 1983, also holds a master of science from the University of Memphis.
Presley's new role includes supervising other admissions counselors and managing recruiting efforts among undergraduates and incoming transfer students. Presley holds a bachelor of science and a master of education from Union.
Karen Mann, Amy Newman, and Anna Richardson will join Union's admissions staff effective Aug. 1 as admissions counselors. Each will recruit undergraduate and incoming transfer students in designated geographic areas.
"We're very excited to have these ladies return to their alma mater to serve as admissions counselors," Griffin said. They each were very active in promoting Union as students and will continue to share Union's message with prospective students and their families."
Mann, who earned a bachelor of science at Union in 1994, will recruit students in New England, Michigan, Illinois and Indiana. Newman, who was graduated from Union in 1995 with a bachelor of science in business administration, will work with students in Middle and East Tennessee, Kentucky, and the Carolinas. Richardson, a 1996 Union graduate with a bachelor of science in business administration, will recruit for Union in Hardeman, Hardin, Chester and McNairy Counties, plus Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.
