"MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR MARRIAGE" WORKSHOP BEGINS OCT. 10 AT UNION UNIVERSITY

JACKSON, September 26-- Union University wellness services will host "Making the Most of Your Marriage," a four-week video workshop series promoting happy, healthy marriages on select Thursday evenings this fall. The workshops, which begin Thursday, Oct. 10, meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Wellness Center classroom of Union's Penick Academic Complex.

The workshop schedule includes the following lectures:

Dr. John Maxwell, host of the nationally-syndicated radio program "Growing Today," leads the series. Maxwell uses his 25 years in Christian ministry to identify strengths and weakness in a marriage and help couples work toward better relationships.

Following each video lecture, Dr. John Holleman, a licensed marriage and family therapist, and Margaret Lillard, director of counseling services at Union, will lead a discussion and activity period.

Union originally began this series as a service to our young couples in married student housing," Lillard said. However, the need to enhance and preserve marriages is so great that we decided to share the series with the community."

The workshops are free and open to the public. Reservations are not required, but individuals planning to attend should call Union's wellness services counseling office at (901) 661-5322 to ensure adequate classroom space.
