JACKSON, October 9-- Selections from the permanent collection of the Billy Graham Center are on display in the Union University Gallery through Nov. 1. The exhibit features award-winning paintings, sculpture and photography from the world's premier Christian artists.
"This is an exciting event for our community to see works by artists who are respected worldwide, not just in the Christian community," Michael Mallard, chair of Union's art department, said. "The artists featured here have displayed works in some of the world's most famous galleries and museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art."
"These works were selected by the center not only because the artists were Christians, but because it is great art. Union is privileged to be the first campus to host an exhibition from this collection."
The Billy Graham Center Museum, located in Wheaton, Ill., boasts one of the world's largest collections of works by Christian artists.
The Union University Gallery, recognized by Christianity Today as one of the nation's top 22 campus-based Christian art galleries, is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free for all exhibits.
