The Lilies of the Field

F. Andrew Leslie’s Drama “The Lilies of the Field” (adapted from the novel by William E. Barrett) will be performed in Union’s W.D.Powell Theatre on Saturday (10/12) at 8 PM.

This warm and humorous drama centers around a discharged soldier, Homer Smith, who decides to see the country and work from place to place as needed. He travels bring him to a group of nuns who need a leaky roof fixed. Soon Homer realizes that the nuns are not going to let him pass through easily...

The movie version of this story brought Sidney Poitier International acclaim and the Academy Award for “Best Actor” with his role as Homer Smith.

Join us in supporting the nine Union students who make up the cast of this compelling, dramatic performance during Family Weekend 2002.
