Fall 2021 Afterschool Classes

This Fall our focus will be to help students improve their understanding of using drawing methods and watercolor to create pleasing compositions. We will use direct observation of subject matter to create two or three finished pieces and will also copy at least one masterwork.

Classes are designed for small group non-traditional grade groups. Class fee per individual is $195.00 per six-session class All materials are included in the tuition fee.

Two separate consecutive Fall sessions consisting of 6 classes each will be offered on TUESDAYS.

  • Session ONE:
    September 21 – October 26
    3:45–5:15 p.m.
  • Session TWO:
    November 2 – December 7
    3:45–5:15 p.m.

Fall 2021 "Saturdays" Workshops

Each workshop is based on a single project using art media specific to our learning objectives for that session. Classes are designed for small group non-traditional grade groups. Class fee per individual is $65.00 per workshop. All materials are included in the class fee. Individual Workshop Dates and Times:

  • Sept. 18, 9:30–11:30 a.m.
    Theme: "Fall Leaves" with a focus on color mixing as well as shape and pattern. We will use direct observation of collected leaves.
  • Oct. 16, 1:00–2:00 p.m.
    Theme: "Deer in the Woods" with a focus on scale, place and perspective. Each student will choose from photographs of various wildlife settings and deer to use as a reference point.
  • Nov. 13, 9:30–11:30 a.m.
    Theme: "Picture This!"with a focus on strengthening drawing skills through drawing to scale using a master drawing.
  • Dec. 11, 1:00–2:00 p.m.
    Theme: "Snowflakes" with a focus on manipulating shape, form and space to create a standing three dimensional art piece.
