SACA (Student Athlete Council of Advisors)
The Student Athlete Council of Advisors is made up of two student athletes in good academic standing from each sport/team here at Union University.
The selection of council members is based on Coaches' recommendations and GPA (3.2 or higher). The mission of the Student Athlete Council Advisors is
to enhance the student athlete's collegiate experience and provide opportunities for success while protecting the welfare of each student athlete in
the context of building a positive image through leadership and community service.
Purpose
- To generate a student athlete voice by communicating with the athletic administration
- To provide equal input of student athletes
- To solicit student athlete responses to proposed conference and NAIA regulations
- To build a sense of athletic community among teams
- To organize community service events
- To promote a positive student athlete image
Member Selection
- Must be an eligible student athlete participating in a varsity sport
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must be aware and willing to take on the member responsibilities
Representative Responsibilities
- Attend all monthly meetings unless away with team travel
- Report back to teammates about SACA events and initiatives
- Actively participate in SACA events
- Serve the needs of fellow student athletes via leadership and support
- Promote high achievement in academics, athletics, and personal development
- Know, understand, and follow SACA rules
