'Forties

Tom Brandon (`49), T. T. Crabtree (`46), and Jerry Glisson (`45) recently celebrated Leawood Baptist Church's 50th anniversary. Brandon, Crabtree, and Glisson are three of four pastors that served at the church from 1946 through 1991.

Gill Gideon (`49), former executive director of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association, was recently inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. 'Fifties

John Barber (`59), professor of history at Ball Staate University, recently received The Eugene Asher Distinguished Teaching Award for Post-Secondary Teaching. This award was granted jointly by the American Historical Association and the Society for History Education at the annual national convention in New York. Address: 1002 N. Sandra Fay Andrews Robertson (`59) has become a flight attendant after early retirement from the World Bank. Address: 5713 River Drive, Mason Neck, VA 22079.

'Sixties

James Allen Ferguson (`60) has retired from the Brantley County (GA) School System after 35 years of service in public education. His first five years of teaching were at South Fulton Elementary School in Obion County, TN, and during that time he was pastor of Palmersville Baptist Church in Weakley County. James' last five years were spent as superintendent of schools for Brantley County. He also served as bi-vocational pastor to rural churches while fulfilling his teaching duties. Fred H. Harris (`61), vice president of economic development of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, was the first recipient of an economic development award named in his honor by the Tennessee Industrial Devel-opment Council. The Fred H. Harris Outstanding Tennessee Economic Developer Award was presented at the 44th Annual Governor's Conference on Economic and Community Develop-ment. The award was created by TIDC to honor its members who have made outstanding contributions in their own community as well as the state of Tennessee. James T. McAfee, Jr. (`61) was recently elected chairman of Mercer University's board of trustees. In addition to his membership on Mercer's board, he serves on Union's board of trustees. Union's School of Business Administration is named in his honor. James is chairman and chief executive officer of ValueMark Healthcare Systems, Inc., an Atlanta-based healthcare ownership and management firm. 'Seventies

Belinda McEwen (`73) recently completed an eight-month assignment at the Social Security Administration Head-quarters in Baltimore, MD. She returned to Jackson in November and is continuing at her regular work station with SSA. Address: Box 3712, Jackson, TN 38303.

Richard Barlow (`73) received a Bachelor of Science in health arts from the College of St. Francis. In July he was promoted to captain in the nurse corp of the Tennessee Army National Guard. Richard was elected as an associate member of the Amer-ican Association of Neurological Surgeons at their annual meeting in New York. Address: 73 Summerview, Jackson, TN 38305.

'Eighties

Nancy Blass Hollingsworth (`81) and her husband, Maurice, are missionaries in Taiwan. Nancy will be working at home and church, and Maurice will be teaching in the Taiwan Baptist Seminary. Lana Younger Suite (`85) has recently relocated to West Tennessee where her husband, Lex, has accepted a position with West Carroll High School as assistant principal and girls' basketball coach. Lana is employed at Younger Associates, in Jackson, which is a market research and consulting firm owned by her sister, Sharon Younger (`81). She was formerly director of admissions at Cumberland University. Lana and Lex have three children, Danielle, age five, Carson, age three, and Ally, age one. Mary Jane Wallis Crawley (`87) and her husband, Danny, were appointed foreign missionaries in August and are now serving as career missionaries in Ghana. William Robert Bartlett (`88) has received a Doctor of Philosophy in nursing from The University of Tennessee at Memphis. Robert is employed as an assistant professor of nursing at The University of Memphis. He also holds nationally recognized certification in critical care nursing. Chris Rice (`89) recently signed with the Rocketown Records label and is currently in the studio working on his premiere Rocketown project slated for a May 1997 release. 'Nineties

Kim West McIntosh (`92) has received a Master of Science in nursing with a concentration in nursing administration from The University of Tennessee at Memphis College of Nursing. Kim and her husband, Jay (`91), reside at 366 Gibson Wells-Brazil Road, Trenton, TN 38382.

Andrea Marberry Moody (`92) has received a Master of Arts in industrial and organizational psychology, and is currently employed in the Human Resources Department at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She and her husband, Jeff, reside at 53 McLean Cove, Jackson, TN 38305.

P. J. Alexander (`93) has accepted a research position in the Department of Clinical and Nutrition Sciences at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. P. Christa S. Friel (`94) was the 1996 recipient of the Curtis and Frances Vaughn New Testament Greek Award. The award is given annually at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft.
