Polly Stone Glover ('61) has published a new book "So...You're Going to College" which will be released nationally this summer. A previous work, "Marks on the Land," a history of Obion, TN, is being reprinted. She is professor of English and coordinator of the Student Learning Center at University of Tennessee Martin. Joe W. McCaleb ('64) has graduated from Vermont Law School, Cum Laude, with a master's in Environmental Law (M.S.E.L.). Joe has been an attorney for 25 years, and is married to the former Glenda Queen ('64). Address: 100 Colonial Drive, Hendersonville, TN 37075.

Rita van Rijn ('67) and her 17-year-old daughter, Alexandria, are living in the San Francisco Bay Area community of Danville. Rita works in research and development for Pacific Gas and Electric. Address: 42 Rainbow Circle, Danville, CA 94506.

John DeLoach ('69), former USDA Scientist and Research Leader in food safety, has been named general manager of Milk Specialties Company's MS-BioScience division. The announcement comes on the heels of a technology distribution agreement between the Japanese Kyoritsu Shoji Company, Ltd. and MS-BioScience. He will be responsible for commercializing the Competitive Exclusion technology license from the USDA. John and his wife, the former Margaret Keyes ('69), have two children. George E. Norvell ('71) has received a 1996 Recognition for Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities award. The award has been given to six Tennessee teachers each year since 1985. The award-winning teachers receive a grant of $1,000 to further their education in the humanities. Address: 736 Key Corner, Brownsville, TN 38012-2444.

William E. Troutt ('71), president of Belmont University in Nashville was named the 1995 Local Manager of the Year. Belmont won the Innovative Management Achievement Award for 1995 from NACUBO (National Association of College and University Business Officers). Ron Harber ('75) is chaplain and counselor for the Employee Assistance Program at Methodist Hospitals of McKenzie and Lexington, TN. His wife, the former Melanie Bennett ('75) is secretary for McKenzie Banking Company in Paris, TN. They have three sons, Paul, age 18, Matthew, age 15, and John, age 12. David Q. Byrd ('76) has been named dean emeritus of Boyce Bible School. He was dean of Boyce, a division of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary that provides ministerial training for non-college graduates, from 1978 until his retirement in 1989. Don Reasons ('78) was recently elected first vice-president of the North Texas Chapter of The American Theatre Organ Society (ATOS). The ATOS is an international society of over 6,000 members dedicated to preserving the theatre pipe organ and its music. Danny K. Wilson ('81) has been appointed as associate professor of religion at California Baptist College in Riverside, CA. His teaching responsibilities began in March and until this appointment, he was adjunct professor of New Testament at Southwestern Seminary. Address: 6698 Solano Drive, Riverside, CA 92509-1438.

Rebecca England Jorgense ('82) is a homemaker, and her husband, Tim, is minister of Arnold Church of Christ. Address: 2932 Highland House Villas Court, Arnold, MO 63010.

Martin S. Culpepper ('83) has been promoted to the position of general manager for Wolgemuth and Hyatt's InterAct Agency. Martin assists in the career development and management of several well-known Christian speakers and performers. Thomas E. Smith, Jr. ('85), CPA, has been promoted to chief financial officer and appointed to the Board of Directors for Southern Fabricators, Inc. in Memphis. He has an interesting hobby, alpine mountaineering, and has recently completed climbs on Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Hood, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Humphreys. If any Unionites are interested in climbing or back country backpacking, he would love to hear from you. Thomas and his wife, the former Donna Dunavant ('85) have three children, Zachery Thomas, age seven, Caleb Moore, age five, and Abigail Nicole, age one. Laurie Clayton Sanderson ('86), part-time music teacher at Henderson Christian School, is directing a play "G. T. and The Halo Express" at the school. Timothy L. Tucker ('86), pharmacist, was elected and installed as speaker-elect of the House of Delegates of the American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA) at the organization's national convention's closing session in Nashville, March 12. He was also honored with the 10th Annual Albert B. Prescott/Glaxo Leadership Award and delivered the 1996 Prescott Lecture. Tim is owner and partner with his father and brother, also pharmacists, of City Drug Company in Huntingdon and serves as president of Tucker and Roe, Inc., a pharmacy consulting service. Clay Hallmark ('89) recently received the Doctor of Ministry in pastoral ministries from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is pastor of Berney Points Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. Andrew McLemore ('89) recently received three 1995 National Silver Microphone Awards. The Silver Microphones, North America's most prestigious awards for radio advertising, are designed to select the top 100 spots from advertising agencies, production companies and radio stations in the United States.
