All aboard as Union alumni set sail for a seven-night cruise up the Inside Passage of coastal western Canada and Alaska!

This summer, Union’s National Alumni Association will inaugurate a travel program for alumni and friends of the university. The inaugural trip will take place June 23-30, 2001 on the Dawn Princess, a part of the expanded Princess Cruise Lines. The seven-night cruise will provide alumni with some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere in the world while providing world-class accommodations and culinary delights.

“We are very excited about this new service for our alumni and friends,” says Gary Williams, executive director of Alumni Services.

The tour will begin in Vancouver and then set sail through the 1,000- mile-long inland waterway of the Inside Passage. Stops in Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway will provide alumni the opportunity to explore some of the historic sites of the area. A cruise through the Glacier Bay National Park and College Fjord will provide spectacular glacial views before ending in Seward and Anchorage.

Williams looks forward to the new opportunities brought through the travel program. In fact, plans are already underway to offer a European tour in the summer of 2002.

“As we continuously seek to expand and enhance our services to alumni and friends, we find that communication and ties are strengthened,” says Williams. “We hope that alumni will give serious consideration to being a part of this new service.”
