Christian Studies Continues Tradition of Excellence | ![]() |
Blessed with an outstanding faculty, the addition of three new Christian Studies professors adds to that program's growing strength and reputation. "I am grateful for the opportunity to be on this campus," stated new Instructor of Christian Studies Brad Green. "To be sure, the daunting task which awaits me is one which I know will require my greatest effort. The possibility of influencing an entire generation for Christ humbles me and causes me to reflect every day of my responsibility for my students." Green comes to Union from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where he is completing his Ph.D. He is a graduate of the Northeast Louisiana University, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Roger Glidewell comes to the Union campus from the First Baptist Church of Orlando, Fla., where he served as Staff Evangelist. Committed to helping young people through the role and function of youth ministry, Glidewell sees his role as, "the process whereby I can multiply my teaching to many through the lives of my students." Always committed to the preparation of youth ministry leaders, the addition of Glidewell enables Union to be one of the nation's first rate universities for potential youth leaders and ministers across the county. Glidewell is a graduate of Southwest Baptist University and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Greg Thornbury comes to Union from his Ph.D. studies at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Thornbury will serve as Instructor in Christian Studies. "The great challenge of our time is to accurately and with great passion teach truth to students who will in turn go out from the classroom to impact their worlds for Christ. I look forward to all that lies before me at Union," commented Thornbury. "I am humbled at the quality of those God is bringing to this campus." commented Department Chair George Guthrie. "Union continues to press toward the goal of both advanced academic training combined with warm-hearted devotion to Christ and his church." |
