| Serving as co-directors
are Susan Hopper and Sherry Tignor.
Susan Hopper formerly served in the Academic Center in assisting students in degree audits for graduation. While in this position she designed and developed Union University’s Faculty Advising Handbook and coordinated the Freshman Orientation experience. Susan, also a gifted teacher, has taught English at Union and on the secondary school level. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching and additional studies from University of Memphis. Sherry Tignor comes to Union after 25 years at University School of Jackson serving as a teacher and administrator. She has taught classes in Science, Health and Physical Education, Secondary Education and served as a school guidance counselor. Her last fifteen years at USJ, she was Middle and Upper Division Head. Sherry holds a Master of Education in Guidance and additional studies from the University of Memphis. Together have authored three student workbooks for their classes: Wisdom for the Journey, Christian Learning and the University Experience, and Discovering My Design. They hosted, with People Management Minnesota, a DMD workshop for universities and colleges featuring Os Guinness as the keynote speaker. They are also National Academic Advising Association certified trainers. In the Fall of 2004, with Dr. Jimmy Davis and Dr. Charles Fowler, they completed a 9 week Bible Study, my design: His Purpose which has been piloted in about 10 churches in Tennessee. In addition to their work on Union’s campus, they have been actively speaking and presenting Union’s program throughout the United States at the following conferences:
