Physical Education, Wellness & Sport

  • Who We Are

Sigma Delta is an organization consisting of students who have a major or minor in the areas of Physical Education, Wellness and Sport.  Our members consists of students who plan to be teachers, coaches, athletic trainers, exercise specialists, and sports management personnel.

  • What We Do

Members of Sigma Delta are future professionals who desire to have a presence not only on the Union University campus but in the community as well.  Sigma Delta participates in activities such as the Carl Perkins Christmas Special, Wellness Week, Homecoming, regional and state conventions in the field.

  • How To Join

All students who have a major or minor in the areas of Physical Education, Wellness and Sport are welcome to attend meetings and become involved.  If you are interested and do not receive any information through campus mail, please contact Julie Powell or Dave Niven in the PEWS department.

  • When We Meet

Sigma Delta meets regularly on the third Monday of each month in the Fred DeLay Gymnasium at 10:00 a.m.  Additional meetings are occasionally scheduled also.

  • How To Become An Honor Society Member

Requirements to become a member of the Sigma Delta Honor Society include an overall grade point average of 2.75 and a grade point average of 3.25 in your major.  Induction takes place in the spring semester.  If you are interested in applying for membership in the honor society, please complete the application and turn into Julie Powell or Dave Niven by December 1st.
