The Office of Student Programs exists to:
Develop student leaders; foster campus community by working with student leaders to plan, promote, and host events that create meaningful, shared experiences; and develop students' Christian worldview in regards to recreation, creativity, media, and culture.

The Office of Student Programs oversees the Student Activities Council and the Barefoots Joe coffee house and venue, along with its leadership team.

Student Programs sponsors Family Weekend, the Homecoming Cup competition, a music series, and a film series each year.

Union University and the Student Activities Council welcome Christian artist Lecrae for Homecoming 2009. Lecrae's most recent hip hop album, Rebel, follows the chart-topping trend of his 2006 album, After the Music Stops. Joined by special guests Mikeschair, After Edmund, and Sho Baraka, this Homecoming will be one to remember. We hope you will join us for a great evening!



SAC (Student Activities Council)
Believing that college is more than just the classroom experience, the Student Activities Council seeks to promote campus unity and improve the quality of student life by providing entertaining activities and various opportunities for campus involvement.

Events sponsored by SAC include: Midnight Movies, Variety Show, Freshman Gameshow, Carl Perkins Christmas Party, Homecoming concert, Movie on the Lawn, Be Our Guest, Spring Semi-Formal, and more.

Homecoming artists have included Shane and Shane, Bebo Norman, Caedmon's Call, Dave Barnes, Derek Webb and Sandra McCracken, Sara Groves, Andrew Peterson, Alli Rogers, Kate York, Steven Delopoulos, and Seabird.

Barefoots Joe
Barefoots Joe exists to serve Union University and the broader community by providing a classical coffeehouse that acts as a space for conversation, exchange of ideas, and appreciation of the arts. Further, we strive to provide excellent products and service, upholding such values as the worth of the individual, care of the earth, and good stewardship.

Barefoots Joe's concert series has included Katie Herzig, Matthew Perryman Jones, Wild Sweet Orange, Jamie Barnes, David Condos, Denison Witmer, Andy Davis, Johnnyswim, Andy Osenga, Coin Laundry Loser, and Brooke Waggoner. Other events include films and open mic nights.
