The King James Bible arose from the same cultural setting as William Shakespeare,
with the translation work and publication of the KJV occurring in the latter years of Shakespeare's work. It is widely agreed that the two major
formative influences on the English language are the KJV and Shakespeare. Therefore, our festival will feature a version of Shakespeare's,
"The Winter's Tale," one of his last major plays, which deals with suspicion, guilt, shame and forgiveness.
In addition to fine entertainment, this will provide us with a sample of the language and world of 17th century England.
