Building on a Unparalleled Partnership

The library building project represents the largest single partnership for a building campaign in Union University's history — a history that dates back to 1823.

Due to the benevolence of The Bill and Carol Latimer Foundation, Union's new library is becoming a reality. The Latimer Foundation's generosity has already inspired and engaged about 1,200 other supporters.

Union students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends followed the Latimers' lead, stepping up to invest in a state-of-the-art, 21st-century library on the main campus. Many of these gifts were small but sacrificial. Such gifts added up quickly and impressively.

The early generosity of our many supporters has provided most of the funding for this extraordinary project and allowed us to begin construction. But to open the doors of the new library, we still need your help!

Efforts have been made to ensure the highest levels of excellence while remaining cost efficient. We are now following up our initial fundraising efforts as well as building design exercises with a campaign to raise an estimated $3.5 million to open the doors of the Union University library.
