It is well known that fraternity members enjoy a much higher involvement in campus and community life than non-fraternity members. Holding an office in the local chapter is a great experience involving working with a group, and in innovative thinking and problem solving. There is a reason that Greeks enjoy holding 85% of the upper-level executive positions in the "Fortune 500 Companies", and that is because of their experiences they are better qualified in working with people and delegating authority.
Brotherhood is the main concept of a fraternity. Some may think that it is just a fun thing to do for four years, while it is, they do not appreciate the fact that when one joins, they join for life. Our over 175 Alumni chapters in the country should be testament to that fact. When in a fraternity, the ties of friendship are usually much stronger than those formed just by living in a residence hall. SAE has had over 289,000 members initiated, more than any other Greek letter organization in the world. How would you like to be next?
Through fundraising events, the TN ETA chapter at Union University supports the Star Center, which is located in Jackson, Tennessee. The Star Center’s mission is to help any person, with any disability, to realize their potential. For example, The Star Center does this by helping children learn to read, helping a person find their first job, or even helping the elderly stay in their homes.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon is the only fraternity at Union which takes an annual mission trip. This trip is exclusively led by brothers in the active chapter. For over ten years, the TN Eta chapter has partnered with Camp Caribe, a youth organization in southern Puerto Rico, which helps to spread the Gospel to thousands of local children each year.
For more information on our annual mission trip, please contact Parker Lewis, the current trip coordinator, at (731)803-3995.
Participating in intramurals in college is a great way to have fun. We have intramural teams that are very competitive and enjoy winning. If that is not your forte, we also have teams that are just comprised of our guys that want to have fun and goof off. Regardless of your skill level in any given sport, there is a team for you within the fraternity that you can be a fundamental part of. If you have siblings, have you ever wondered what it would be like to play on a team with them? These teams within the fraternity give you the opportunity to play on a team full of your brothers.
