This will be an opportunity for you to learn more about the GO (Global Outreach) program as well as get answers to questions you may have as a parent of someone interested in going on a GO Trip.
- 2–4 p.m. Parents' Workshops

Professionals from the Student Life Staff are available for 30 minute one-on-one meetings with parents on Friday afternoon between 2-4pm.
Staff will ask intentional questions about how your son or daughter is doing, how your transition is going as a parent, and talk about specific
resources that may be helpful at this particular stage of your son or daughters life. For an appointment time, please contact Tina Netland at tnetland@uu.edu.
- 3 p.m. Sibling/Prospective Student Session

Siblings/ Prospective students are encouraged to join us for a 30 minute workshop to learn more about Union followed by a tour.
- 6–8 p.m. Make-a-Wish Cookout (Advance tickets required)
Bowld Commons & Grace Quad.
We will kick off the weekend with an outdoor cookout, music, and fun! Join us for a great evening, and support the Make-A-Wish Foundation as well. The ladies of Chi Omega and the Aramark staff sponsor this event.
- 8–10 p.m. Movie on the Lawn - Brave
Watters Quad
Bring chairs and blankets and join us for one of our favorite events - Movie on the Lawn. Always a popular experience among our students,
this event involves a giant movie screen, a new release, and theater snacks. Sponsored by Undergraduate Admissions and the Student Activities Council.
- Friday night Sibling Sleepover
Siblings may stay overnight in their brother or sister's room. Siblings of the opposite gender may stay if 7 or younger. Please inform roommates if a sibling is staying overnight.
Saturday, September 29

Join us for brunch and the State of the Union address from President Dockery.
- Noon–5 p.m. Intramural games
Lawn chairs recommended.
West Jackson Baptist Church, intramural fields

Families may visit their student's room. Please remember to inform roommates.
- 1–3 p.m. Family Swim
The pool will be open just for family weekend guests from 1-3pm. The pool will be open 3-6pm as well for the entire community.
- 6–8 p.m. Union Night
Campus organizations highlight their activities to live music and fireworks. Food will be available for purchase.
Show Hope's Red Bus Project, a double decker bus-turned-mobile thrift store, will be on hand spreading awareness about the needs
of orphans and raising money for orphan care. Food and Union merchandise will be available for purchase.
- 6:30 p.m. Family Olympics
During Union Night, Union University families will take part in a friendly competition known as the Family Weekend Olympics, with a trophy awarded to the winners!
Registration begins at 6 p.m. at the University Relations tent.
- 8 p.m. Fireworks Over Miller Tower
As the music fades and the sun sets over the Union campus, the sky will be illuminated with fireworks as we celebrate another year of all that God is continuing to bless our family with at Union University.
Sunday, September 30
Sunday morning is a great opportunity to worship with your student at the church he or she attends. We hope you are able to stay for the morning and join them in their new church home.
