LASO has partnership opportunities with Mentor U, a mentorship collaboration program with North Parkway Middle School.
Beginning in 2014 LASO began annual custom of leading Union in the celebration of Latino/Hispanic Heritage Month. Typically during the first week of October there will be special events such as a movie night in collaboration with the Language Dept., a special Latino/Hispanic culture focused chapel, and also a pastry sale.
During Holy Week each spring LASO leads a discussion and multi-speaker presentation on the various ways in which Semana Santa is celebrated throughout Latin America.
In 2015 LASO partnered together with the Jackson-Madison County Public Library to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, and help promote bi-lingual resources at the library.
