Critter Club

Critter Club is a zoology-themed animal care and education outreach club. This club promotes the love of learning about animals in local elementary schools through interactive presentations using live animals on the topics of animal care, biology, behavior, and conservation.

This organization exists for the following purposes:

  1. To educate the public about animals — why they are important and why it is our responsibility to care for them.
  2. To train future zookeepers and conservation biologists in animal care, community outreach, and effective public speaking.
  3. To foster an encouraging and inspiring community for Zoology and Conservation Biology majors at Union University.

Membership

Membership in Critter Club is restricted to Zoology and Conservation Biology majors of Union University in good academic standing. Due to the routine handling of live animals and interaction with the public, potential club members must submit an application for membership to the faculty advising committee. Successful applicants will be chosen based on their academic standing, experience with animals, personal responsibility and maturity, and their future career plans. There are no dues required to join the club.
