Prime Controls

Prime Controls partners with Union The Union Department of Engineering is pleased to announce an educational partnership with Prime Controls, a systems integration company in Lewisville, Texas. In November, the company gave Union a custom-designed and custom-built rack of equipment containing a programmable logic controller and associated items. Colin Sikorski, Project Engineer for Prime Controls, and Grace Morriss, Automation Specialist and 2014 Union engineering graduate, delivered the equipment to Union and spent a day setting it up and talking to students and professors about how it works. The equipment, which is specifically designed to introduce PLC programming to undergraduate students, is a welcome addition to our engineering labs.

Dr. Jay Bernheisel will teach a class during the upcoming January term using our new equipment, and the class is full to capacity! Dr. Jeannette Russ, Department Chair, noted, "We are delighted to have this new equipment that enables us to offer our students an elective course in the important area of controls. We are grateful for the generous gift from Prime Controls!"
