Cooperative Education Program

The Department of Engineering offers students the option of pursuing a cooperative education ("coop") experience. Student who choose the coop route are selecting a time-tested, formalized program that typically involves spending a total of five years in school and working fulltime in lieu of coursework for at least two semesters.

Coop students earn transcripted credit through a series of zero-credit-hour engineering courses entitled "cooperative education I," "cooperative education II," and "cooperative education III." Students will take these courses according to one of the following schedules.
