McCoy Speaks on Economic Development

Recently, Union alum Logan McGoy of the Jackson Chamber of Commerce spoke to the State and Local Government class about the team approach to recruiting business to Jackson Madison County. He said the goal of the chamber is to build the tax base, recruit jobs, and improve the quality of life in the area. He told us they seek to recruit jobs above the state median wage to provide good, high quality, enduring jobs . The chamber has brought in $2 billion in investments and 4192 jobs the past five years. He also explained how they recruit businesses to West TN and what is important to these industries.
