Department of Psychology at Union

Our Alumni

Luke Walden "During my time at Union, I majored in Psychology and minored in Mathematics. I was involved in Psi Chi, SGA, NBS, and Lifegroups. Most notably, I met my wife, Lydia, in the PSY 415 Applied Research class.

The Psychology Department at Union prepared us both for the graduate programs we are in at the University of Memphis. I went straight into a doctoral program in Educational Psychology and Research, and Lydia is in the Master's in Clinical Mental Health program. We also work in social services. I am a research associate in the evaluation wing of a non-profit clinical research organization, and Lydia works for a residential treatment center.

We are both thankful for the excellent, Christ-centered education at Union that prepared us for graduate school — and brought us together!"

Mitchell Walden"I have found that my time at Union more than prepared me to succeed. The opportunity to gain real clinical experience through my senior year practicum was invaluable. This experience also helped me have an advantage over my peers in graduate school as we went into clinical rotations."

Tiffany Watson"Deciding to pursue a degree in psychology at Union was, undoubtedly, one of my best decisions. I developed invaluable relationships with my classmates and psychology professors that have shaped my career path. I recently completed [my] graduate degree and I am now working at my dream job in the mountains of East Tennessee. I couldn't be happier with my career, and I owe that all to the guidance and support of the UU Department of Psychology."
