Faculty Piano Recital: Terry McRoberts
February 24, 2009: 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Attendees will be taken around the world in sixty minutes at the faculty piano recital given by Terry McRoberts. The program begins with three brief pieces by Libby Larsen, an American composer who spent two days in residence on the Union University campus last fall. The next stop is Germany for a sonatina by Hermann Schroeder and the Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. Listeners will hear Notturno by the Italian composer Respighi, and the Scherzo in B-Flat Minor by Polish composer Frederic Chopin. Following two pieces by Chinese composers, the program will conclude with the three preludes by George Gershwin.
The recital will be presented in Hartley Hall in Jennings Hall on the Union University campus on Tuesday, February 24 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, and the public is cordially invited to attend.
