Faculty Voice Recital: Stanley Warren
February 20, 2012: 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Stanley Warren will be joined by celebrated conductor, organist and harpsichordist Murray Forbes Somerville in a faculty voice recital on Monday, February 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Hartley Recital Hall located in Jennings Hall. Dr. Somerville, Music Director of the Music City Baroque in Nashville, has twice visited our campus to direct Bach’s St. John Passion in 2007 and last year to play for Opera Workshop’s production of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. The recital will feature the works of several Baroque masters, including Monteverdi, Bach and Telemann. Dr. Somerville will also play delightful pieces by Handel and Couperin. Please join us for Dr. Somerville’s last appearance at Union before he retires as Direct of the Music City Baroque and moves to South Carolina. This recital is free and open to the public.
