2026 Continuing Education Opportunities

Continuing education workshops will be taught by professional social workers or those in related fields with expertise in specific practice areas. The purpose is to provide ongoing learning opportunities for social work professionals and students to enhance their knowledge and practice skills.

Most seminars will be virtual and offer 1.5 contact hours for continuing education. The annual ethics workshop will occur November, offer 3.0 continuing education contact hours, and attendees may participate in-person or virtually.

Cost

  • Community Members: $25 per session ($50 in November for Ethics Workshop)
  • Alumni, Field Instructors, and Advisory Council: $15 per session ($30 in November for Ethics Workshop)
  • Current Students and Faculty: Free

Additional Information

Workshops are typically held on a Friday of specified months and begin at 8:30 a.m.

To receive CEUs, individuals must be present for the duration of the workshop.

  • March 13th Session: "Trends and Challenges in Child Mental Health" with Dr. Donald Bearden, Associate Professor at University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Chief of Pediatric Psychology and Behavioral Health at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital

  • April 10th Session: "The Science and Art of Self-Care" with Dr. Meghan Larson, LCSW, Associate Professor at Union University
  • May 8th Session: "Trends and Challenges in Adult Mental Health" with Pat Taylor, LCSW, Program Manager at Pathways, West Tennessee Healthcare
