How to Apply
- Complete your FAFSA each year
- Create a résumé and upload it to Handshake
- Search on-campus job postings and submit your résumé* to apply.
*some job postings may request additional items such as a cover letter, unofficial transcript, and/or writing samples.
Hiring Process
Each campus office/department will have different timelines for making hiring decisions. Some supervisors will conduct very formal interviews, while others may opt for more informal conversations. Regardless, always treat any interaction with a potential employer as an interview. The office/department will notify you if you've been selected for hire.
Timecards and Pay Periods
Students record their work hours on selfservice.uu.edu and are paid on a biweekly basis via Direct Deposit.

Employment Onboarding
If you've been selected for hire, you'll receive an email from the Vocatio Center with instructions to complete some employment forms online as well as I-9 verification. I-9 verification is a short, in-person meeting where you are required to provide authentic document(s) for employment verification.

For international students with an F-1 visa, once you have been offered a job, your next step is to obtain a Social Security Number, and this must be done prior to starting work. Check out the International Student Checklist, and contact Pam Whitnell, the International Student Officer, for more details.
Once you have completed all of the on-boarding steps, you will receive an email confirmation clearing you to begin work.

Assist Maintenance technicians with their day to day operations. Student workers will be involved in, but not limited to plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general work orders. Trade skills and knowledge are not required, but helpful.
