Microsoft OneDrive - Employees
As part of Microsoft's 365 services, the University provides OneDrive For Business for each employee to store personal University-related files. OneDrive For Business (also called 'work or school') has more features than OneDrive For Personal Use.
Access all your Microsoft 365 web services by signing into office.uu.edu using your University email address and password.

What's stored and backed up? | Everything in your 'OneDrive - Union University' folder will be stored in the OneDrive cloud on Microsoft's secure services. If you use Windows 10, this includes all Desktop, Documents, and Pictures files. If you have other Windows/Mac files on your hard drive, you can back them up periodically by manually copying them to OneDrive. |
How much storage space does each employee get? | Microsoft currently provides five terabytes for each employee's files. |
How do I access OneDrive files using my office computer? | Use Windows' File Explorer or Mac OS X's Finder to access 'OneDrive - Union University'. (If you're not sure how to do this, contact IT Help below.) Here's an example of what you would see using Windows File Explorer. On a Mac, you'll see the OneDrive folder on your desktop.![]() |
How do I access OneDrive through the internet? (including when I'm teaching on a classroom PC) | Use the Office webapp to access your OneDrive using the internet. - office.uu.edu After your sign in, click the the app grid at the top left and then select OneDrive. ![]() |
How do I access OneDrive using a mobile device? | Install the OneDrive app for your Android or Apple iOS device(s). The videos linked above this table explain mobile use. |
How do I access OneDrive files when I'll be offline, without internet service? | If you need to keep a specific file on your device (and also stored on OneDrive), select the settings for the file (e.g., right-click in Windows File Explorer) and choose (depending on the device) 'Always keep on this device' or 'Make Available Offline' or a similarly-worded option. These options also exist when accessing your OneDrive files using office.uu.edu on a PC or Mac. You'll be able to view/change the file when you're offline. When you reconnect to the internet, the file will automatically be updated centrally into OneDrive. |
How do I share OneDrive files with others? | If you're using a Windows laptop/computer, in File Explorer control-click on the file/folder and select Share. These options also exist when accessing your OneDrive files using office.uu.edu on a PC or Mac. You'll see this dialog box. If needed, click 'Anyone with the link can edit' to see more options to restrict who can use the link, whether they can edit, etc. If you are using a mobile device, refer to the video link above this table for assistance. ![]() |
