Through two centuries, the people of Union University can truly say that the Lord has been in this place. Our history is traced through the early years of Jackson, to Murfreesboro, and back to Jackson. In different times and in different places, the Lord has been faithful in blessing the work and the mission of Union University to provide Christ-centered education that promotes excellence and character development in service to Church and society.
Now, as Union stands at the dawn of its third century, the university has adopted a campus master plan that will guide development of its physical campus in Jackson over the next 20 years.
Though buildings aren't the most essential part of Union's identity, they are nonetheless important. Buildings shape us. Buildings can be beautiful and functional, pointing us to the beauty of God. Indeed, place is a powerful influence in our lives.
Ultimately, the design of the Union campus helps us to fulfill the mission that God has given us to prepare students to serve, to lead, to minister, and to be salt and light in God's world.
As you see in these pages the vision for the future of Union University, would you prayerfully consider how God might use you to make these dreams possible? This campus master plan represents a bold vision. It is not something that can be accomplished through our own means and devices.
But we believe that we serve a great God, who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think. We want to attempt great things for Him, trusting that He will provide the means for our dreams to become reality.
