Union’s Homecoming weekend set for Feb. 21-22

JACKSON, Tenn.Feb. 19, 2014 — A campus community picnic and the class of 1964’s 50-year reunion are key features of Union University’s 2014 Homecoming events Feb. 21-22.

“The difficult events of recent days have made us more keenly aware of our need for one of God’s richest blessings: community,” said Josh Clarke, director of alumni services. “While the Homecoming schedule has been scaled back this year, we will still have events to provide reunion for alums of all ages that celebrate the community that makes Union such a special place.”

“Union Strong: a Celebration of Community” will feature food and fellowship outside the Bowld Commons Feb. 22 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Food will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the event. University President-elect Dub Oliver and his wife, Susie, will be present.

Additional Homecoming events include:

  • Homecoming chapel service, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel. The service will feature a special recognition of the class of 1964, as well as an acknowledgement of the 2014 Alumni Award recipients.
  • Lady Bulldogs basketball game against Delta State University, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m.
  • Bulldogs basketball game against Delta State University, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m.
