JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 8, 2019 — Author Scott Cairns will give a reading at Union University Oct. 24.
Cairns, an English professor at Seattle Pacific University, is the author of nine poetry collections, including “The Theology of Doubt,” “The Translation of Babel” and “Slow Pilgrim: The Collected Poems.” His writing has appeared in such publications as The Atlantic, Paris Review, Poetry, The New Republic and Image and been anthologized in multiple editions of “Best American Spiritual Writing.”
The reading will begin at 7 p.m. in the Carl Grant Event Center, located in the Barefoot Student Union building. A book signing will follow.
Sponsored by the Union University Lyceum and the English department, the event is free and open to the public.
