Analytical Services

The Center for Pharmacometrics and Molecular Discovery (PharMD) is pleased to support the on-going research efforts of colleges and universities by offering a variety of analytical services at reasonable prices. Currently, we offer a full complement of NMR services, low-resolution mass spectrometry and IR (solids or liquids). The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences utilizes the following laboratory equipment:

  • Bruker Avance III Nanobay 400 MHz NMR with BBFO probe and variable temperature
  • Waters H-Class UPLC with single quad MS with electrospray ionization source and PDA-(ESI) for routine analysis of small molecules in positive or negative mode
  • PerkinElmer Spectrum 65 FTIR with UATR for neat solids or liquids

Services Available

  • NMR
    • 1H NMR
    • 13C NMR
    • DEPT135 (90 or 45)
    • COSY (proton correlation)
    • HSQC (proton:DEPT135 correlation)
    • HMBC (long range coupling)
    • NOESY (through-space proton correlations)
    • ROESY (through-space proton correlations, small molecules)
    • 19F
    • Variable temperature NMR
    • Other experiments and analysis of other nuclei are also possible, please inquire.
  • Mass Spectrometry
Our single quad mass spectrometer is coupled to an ultra-high-pressure liquid chromatograph which allows analysis of samples in very short periods of time and in small quantity. Analysis of pure or relatively pure samples is routine; while development of separation methods for mixtures may require additional time and effort. See pricing information for more detail.
  • Infrared (IR) Spectroscopy
Our Spectrum 65 FTIR is equipped with a UATR allowing for rapid analysis of either solids or liquids with no sample prep.
