STM Scholarship
As an academic community affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention, and as the oldest institution continuously relating to the Southern Baptist Convention, Union University is committed to providing Christ-centered education that promotes excellence and character development in service to Church and society. In keeping with this commitment, Union University is pleased to offer scholarship assistance of $2000/year to new incoming, Southern Baptist, traditional undergraduate students studying in the School of Theology and Missions.
Scholarship Requirements
- Student must be a new incoming student to Union University.
- Student must be an active member of a Southern Baptist church.
- Student must be accepted into one of the below traditional undergraduate majors in the School of Theology and Missions at Union University:
- Student must submit the School of Theology and Missions Scholarship application form, which includes an account of his/her salvation experience and call to future ministry.
- The student's pastor must complete a recommendation for the student.
The School of Theology and Missions will make the final decisions regarding eligibility in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Planning upon receipt of required documents.
Priority date for receiving all documents is December 1 if applying for the fall semester and January 1 if applying for the spring semester.
Renewal Criteria
- The student must be making satisfactory progress towards a major in the School of Theology and Missions.
- The student must maintain a 2.0 grade point average.
- The student may receive the scholarship for eight semesters.
- A student involved on disciplinary probation will forfeit the scholarship during the period of probation.
