Supplemental Instruction (SI)

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic enrichment program (structured study sessions) that...

  • Targets challenging courses
  • Provides trained leaders (SI Leaders) who have excelled in the course and who will also be attending classes with the students
  • Assists students to predict test items, refine notes, discuss readings, and practice problem solving/reasoning skills
  • Offers 2 to 3 regularly scheduled, informal sessions (50 minutes) weekly
  • Is FREE and VOLUNTARY!

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is not tutoring, it's collaborative learning

Learn how to learn while learning what to learn.

Fact: On average, SI participants earn HIGHER test grades than non-SI participants!
