Position Overview Emmanuel Baptist Church of Humboldt, TN is seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Director to lead and nurture our youth ministry. The Youth Director will play a crucial role in guiding the spiritual growth and development of our young students, fostering an environment of discipleship and community. This is a bi-vocational/part-time position, and salary will be competitive based on applicable ministry experience. We are a Southern Baptist Church in Humboldt, TN that is steadily growing. Our Youth Group is starting to take root in the church, creating a wonderful opportunity for a Youth Director to thrive. Key Responsibilities ? Quarterly Meetings with Parents: Conduct quarterly meetings with parents to discuss the progress, plans, and needs of the youth ministry. ? Event and Activity Planning: Plan and organize events and activities, aiming for at least one major activity per quarter, to engage and inspire the youth. The Pastor will also assist in this task as needed. ? Weekly Teaching: Teach the youth group during Sunday School and Wednesday Nights, providing biblically-based lessons and fostering discussions that encourage spiritual growth. ? Curriculum Assistance: Collaborate with the Pastor in selecting and ordering curriculum materials that align with the church’s doctrine and vision. ? Preaching Opportunities: For those who feel called to and are qualified for pastoral ministry, there will be opportunities to preach and share sermons with the congregation. Qualifications ? Strong personal faith and adherence to the principles of the BFM 2000. ? Experience in youth ministry or a related field is not required but will be considered. Calling into ministry will be considered priority over experience. ? Excellent communication and organizational skills. Updated August 2025 ? Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and volunteers. ? Passion for mentoring and guiding young people in their walk with Christ. Opportunities ? Preaching Opportunities: For those who feel called to and are qualified for pastoral ministry, there will be opportunities to preach and share sermons with the congregation. ? Academic Support: For current students pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree, MA, or M.Div. in a ministry related field, the congregation will support the individual in this role during any field work or case study assignments. ?
