Description:
The Minister of Children and Youth position at Kimball Baptist Church is a full-time salaried position. The Minister of Children & Youth is responsible to the church for leading, developing, promoting, and implementing all youth ministries within the church. In addition, the position includes coordination of children’s programs. This person is expected to work in close conjunction with the Youth Counsel and will report to the Pastor at KBC.

Primary Responsibilities: The following constitute the major responsibilities of the Minister of Children & Youth:

I. Spiritual Responsibilities: a. Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. b. Give evidence of being a born-again believer and called of God into the ministry. c. Faithfully attend and financially support the Church. d. Seek to be a role model in attitude, speech, and actions in a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ. e. Have a heart and passion to share the gospel and teach youth to do the same. f. The ability to connect with youth relationally and to foster healthy interpersonal relationships with youth. g. Possess the ability to teach/model the scripture in all areas of life. h. Agree to uphold the Church's statement of faith. I. Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work well with church staff, volunteers, and youth parents. II. Duties and Responsibilities: a. Develop and lead a dynamic Wednesday night youth worship service. b. Lead, develop, promote, and implement the youth ministry within the church c. Plan student retreats, summer camps, and other student worship functions. Develop and implement a strategy for growth in the children and youth groups. e. Steward the children and youth group budget. f. Maintain regular office hours. g. Participate in student pastoral duties such as baptisms, hospital/social visitation, weekly follow up outreach on perspective youth members and absentees. h. Follow all employee expectations and guidelines set forth in the Employment Manual. I. Participate in all staff and Finance Committee meetings where input is needed regarding the student ministries. j. Willingness to do other duties as assigned by the Pastor.
