Youth Pastor Profile Second Baptist Church is seeking a Youth Pastor who is committed to the inerrancy and authority of the Bible. He will abide by the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and adhere to the church constitution. This role focuses on discipling teenagers, fostering their growth in Christ, and integrating youth ministry as a vital component of the church's overall mission and family ministry strategy. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership, relational skills, and alignment with our doctrinal convictions. We desire a man who is himself being transformed by God’s Word in daily devotional study as he leads our youth to also be transformed by God’s Word. He will be firm in his conviction and relational in his delivery. The Youth Pastor must be a man who exhibits the Godly character qualities outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4; and Acts 6:4. The candidate must hold a secondary education degree and have experience in youth or student ministry with evidence of fruitfulness and success. Our next Youth Pastor will be very relational with our staff, lay leaders, and youth. With a servant’s heart, he will lead our youth leadership team within the established philosophy of ministry to achieve the stated goals of Second Baptist Church. We are searching for a disciple-maker who is capable of accurately declaring the Gospel, teaching, equipping, and challenging our youth to grow spiritually deeper and to apply what they are learning. He should be able to execute conflict resolution quickly and decisively, following the Biblical model in Matthew 18. He will put God first, his family second, and the church third. We desire a Youth Pastor who models faithful leadership in his home, which allows overflow into his leadership at church. Our Youth Pastor should display clear and evident signs of a deep, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through consistent personal devotion, godly character, and a life that reflects the fruit of the Spirit.
