How to Apply

Hiring Process
Each campus office/department will have different timelines for making hiring decisions. Some supervisors will conduct very formal interviews, while others may opt for more informal conversations. Regardless, always treat any interaction with a potential employer as an interview. The office/department will notify you if you've been selected for hire.
Timecards and Pay Periods
Students record their work hours on selfservice.uu.edu and are paid on a biweekly basis via Direct Deposit.

If you've been selected for hire, you'll receive an email from the Vocatio Center with instructions to complete some employment forms online as well as I-9 verification. I-9 verification is a short, in-person meeting where you are required to provide authentic document(s) for employment verification.

For international students with an F-1 visa, once you have been offered a job, your next step is to obtain a Social Security Number, and this must be done prior to starting work. Check out the International Student Checklist, and contact Pam Whitnell, the International Student Officer, for more details.
Once you have completed all of the on-boarding steps, you will receive an email confirmation clearing you to begin work.

- Department Assistant - Office of Study Abroad - FWS
This position lies within the Study Abroad program and the Department pf LLW. Some of the daily responsibilities will be to assist students with initial Study Abroad questions and to communicate effectively with all visitors. Also, answering phone calls and taking messages. In addition, running errands, clerical duties such as copies, scans, etc. Other responsibilities include preparing for events, taking payments, and various tasks for the professors or administrative assistant as needed.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesWe are a 24/7 center, especially when students are abroad. - Event Staff - Concessions - FWS
Looking for friendly concession workers to prepare and sell food and drinks at home soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, and baseball games. Working the cash register and Square iPad technology is also a part of the concession experience. Cleanliness, organization, and people skills are necessary. We are not asking employees to work every home game but a few games each month based on student-worker availability.
- Circle of Support Leader - EDGE Program - FWS
This position is responsible for providing support for students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD). This support will vary based on the needs of each individual EDGE student and will coincide with the program focuses of Employment Training, Daily Living Skills, Godly Focus, and Educational Enrichment. This position is responsible as a primary peer mentor/peer leader within the students’ circle of support and liaison between other mentors and EDGE staff.

Students will work with a professor in a lab class and/or with the chemical stockroom manager in the chemical stockroom. The student must have successfully completed CHE-111 and preferably also CHE-112 and must be available one or more days either 8-10 a.m. or 1:40-4:30 (TTh) or 2:00-4:50 p.m. (MWF).
