That’s why we developed the LAUNCH Program for working adults which leads to the Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership Degree. This program provides students, who are least 24 years old with two years work experience, with the skills and knowledge required of effective, innovative leaders in the 21st century workplace. Students develop the requisite leadership, interpersonal, communication, research and problem-solving skills needed for organizational leadership. And, the innovative accelerated delivery method allows students to continue working full-time, attend class one evening per week, and complete the program in as little as 18 months.

Bachelor of Social Work

Bachelor of Social Work

Adult students are returning to college in larger numbers. Statistics show more than 50% of all students enrolled in undergraduate education are adults who have life and work experience.

Our program leading to a Bachelor of Social Work is designed for adult students with responsibilities and busy schedules. You can earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) in as little as 24 months. Classes are conducted only one night per week, allowing you more time for work and family.

A BSW degree prepares you for a career in which you help others succeed in the face of adversity. Union’s nationally recognized faculty prepares students for careers in counseling, child welfare, community development, mental health, advocacy, and others.

The program is designed to prepare students for (a) professional careers in a variety of human service areas; (b) leadership roles in church, school, and community; © personal roles in family living; and (d) graduate education. Graduates with the major meet all requirements for the provisional Certifi ed Family Life Educator (CFLE) designation from the National Council on Family Relations. Social Work

Social workers help people achieve a better "fit" with their world and help the world to be more responsive to the needs of people. Union’s Social Work Program, rooted in Christian faith and commitment, prepares students for entry-level social work practice, teaching students to appreciate human life as God’s creation and to promote social and economic justice for all. Union’s Social Work Program also provides a solid foundation for graduates to pursue a Master of Social Work degree.

One exciting aspect of the curriculum is the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to practice. Community service and the Field Practicum, the capstone course, allows social work majors to get "hands on" experience. During the Field Practicum, seniors work one semester under a professional social worker in the community.

Graduates have many career options including case managers, crisis counselors, geriatric social workers, family service workers, church social workers, alcohol and drug counselors, foster care and adoption specialists, international social workers, school social workers, mental health counselors, child advocates, and medical social workers.

Sociology

The courses in Sociology are designed for two types of students: (1) those who desire pre-professional training for sociology or other related fields of human relations, and (2) those who seek to understand underlying principles in human relations, the role of custom and group psychology in collective behavior, the structure of society, the problems of group living, and the tendencies toward the improvement or the disintegration of society. Courses are designed to present both a practical and a scientific analysis of human relationships in the various areas of social life.
