The mission of Gusta Java is to bring you the world's finest tasting specialty coffee and directly improve the lives of the people of Nicaragua. After traveling to the Nicaraguan mountains of Matagalpa and learning of the hardships that Nicaraguans regularly face, John Elford and Stephen Wilks began to imagine ways to directly affect the needs of this people.

Since coffee is one of the world's top commodities and Matagalpa is well-known for its coffee production, John recognized the benefit of purchasing a coffee plantation and using its return to minister to the people of the region and particularly El Ayudante, a local mission.

Gusta Java roasts coffee that is grown in a manner that benefits both the growers and the environment. The vision is simple: to work first hand with the farmers and improve the quality of life in Nicaragua not only at the farm but in the entire country itself.
