CAP is an interdenominational volunteer organization founded in 1964. Its aim is to serve the poor of eastern Kentucky through programs such as home repair, elderly services, child development venters, spuse abuse shelters, summer camps, adult education, substance abuse recovery centers and many other programs and services. CAP volunteers serve one week to a year or longer and many of our volunteers are recent college graduates or students serving over summer or semester breaks. CAP volunteers live in intentional Christian community and we offer our long-term volunteers a montly stipen, health insurance, and a potential AmeriCorps Education Award.
