The Union University chapter of Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS) is a club open to all chemistry majors and minors. Throughout the school year, SAACS participates in numerous social, scholarship, and service events. Some of these activities include the annual professors vs. students volleyball game, trips to scientific meetings, participation in the West Tennessee Regional Science Fair and participation in the Jackson, Tennessee environmental fair.
Last year, the American Chemical Society awarded Union University SAACS the highest achievement of outstanding chapter. Through student involvement and great faculty support, SAACS has developed into a campus organization that allows science students to interact intellectually and socially.
