National Chemistry Week:

The Saacs chapter has a great time with National chemistry week. Each year the saacs members enjoy different themes, i.e. 2004/2005 the Theme was "Health and wellness" and the 2005/2006 theme is "Joys for toys"

During National Chemistry week students are able to gain experience in scientific presentations through the Brown Bag Seminars. Younger SAACS members attend these seminars in hopes of gaining tips on presenting which would prepare them for their own presentations later on. Besides presenting their own research, students learn a great deal from the Keynote Speaker.  In 2004/2005 we had the privilege of hearing Dr. Lee from the University of Tennessee Pharmacy School.  The speaker we heard for 2005/2006 was Dr. Michael Hayes, one of union university's own graduates.

During the week, students enjoy making a Periodic table of cupcakes to share with other students on campus and to promote National chemistry week and then of course MOle day is always fun as the students break the "moleata" and the mole king and queen are crowned.
